Growing flowers
My little side project is a cutting patch in my back garden! It's such a treat to be able to walk outside and pick buckets of flowers all through the summer and into late autumn.
The cutting garden has been going for a couple of years and last year, during lockdown, I started selling mixed flower buckets, jam jar flowers and posies.
I absolutely love growing flowers and would probably do this full time if I could. But even with such a tiny plot, it does mean that i can supplement weddings and events with British, locally grown flowers - and I get to do what I love.
What do I grow?
I generally grow a mix of cottage garden flowers. I don't have a perennials bed, as such, but I do have dahlias, sweet rocket and feverfew daisies that come back year after year. Flowers are sown from seed in autumn and spring, though this year they have all been sown in spring and rather late - thanks mainly to having to juggle homeschooling and a run a business!
The seeds are started in our greenhouse before being hardened off and planted out in May (after the last frosts).
This year, I am growing: antirrhinums, cosmos, poppies, asters, rudbeckia, stocks, cornflowers, sweet peas, dahlias, zinnias, nigella, ammi majus/visnaga, larkspur, calendular, fountain grass, bunny's ears and sunflowers.
These beautiful flowers look great in a jam jar or a posy - making them the perfect gifts.

How to order?
The cutting garden flowers will start to be available at the beginning of summer through to autumn.

All arrangements are made to order and include a seasonal mix of whatever is available at the time of order.
Local delivery available in the East Grinstead and surrounding areas. National delivery is also available on request.
